How do I best care for my cowhide?

Do not use a brush head or rotating brush, as this can damage your cowhide. Rotate the cowhide regularly to ensure even wear, and avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight as it can fade the colors.
Since cowhide is a natural material that does not break down into textile fibers, each hide is treated as a whole product. To make use of the entire material, minor repairs may sometimes appear on the backside — these do not affect the rug’s appearance or function but are part of the unique craftsmanship behind each cowhide rug.
How do I clean my cowhide?
In case of spills, gently blot with a light, colorless cloth. Avoid rubbing the stain to prevent permanent damage to the fur, and avoid pouring water on the rug. You should always follow the washing instructions that come with the rug, but here are some general tips:
For stains, try to absorb the liquid with paper towels. If the stain is dried, you can remove it with a light, slightly damp sponge or cloth. Use lukewarm water and wool shampoo if necessary. Avoid wetting the cowhide more than needed.
